Encounter Christ. Grow in Faith. Live the Gospel.

At the heart of our parish renewal is a desire for people to personally encounter Christ and grow in faith.

Forming disciples means creating opportunities for all people to have a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, then being prepared to share our faith and encouragement with them as we accompany them on their faith journey.

Principles

Foster preparation, presence and reverence

Create space for silence, encounter and relationship with Christ

Connect worship to daily life and mission

Principles in Action

We arrive prayerfully prepared and help others do the same (as leaders, ministries and parishioners).

We respect moments of silence, prayer and reverence in the Eucharist

and in our gatherings.

We speak, sing and serve in ways that point people to Christ—not to ourselves or our preferences.

We invite reflection, response, encounter and conversion.

We help people connect Sunday worship to their relationship with Christ and to live the Gospel beyond Mass; at home, work, school and community.

We offer formation and compassionate encouragement without pressure, shame or guilt.

We treat discipleship as a journey and make room for questions, doubts and growth.

Reflection

  • When have I personally experienced an encounter with Christ?
  • Does my Sunday worship affect the way I live Monday through Saturday?
  • Do we create enough space for silence, prayer and reflection?
  • How can we help people move from simply attending Mass to becoming missionary disciples?
  • How can we make room for people who have questions, doubts or are still growing in faith?

After Mass, take a moment before moving on with your day.

Ask yourself: “What is Christ inviting me to take with me today?”
