January 19, 2014
Fr. Philip will take annual vacation from January 20, 2014 until the last week of February.
He would like to thank the caring people who have sent along with him monetary gifts for the lepers ($1,475.00). He makes sure they will receive 99.9% of your gifts (0.10% are used to buy gasoline for the Nuns’ scooters).
Re: THANK YOU NOTE ---- 2013 Donation Year
This year has proven to be an exceptionally exciting one, with all of your donations we have contributed to many ministries in the parish and maintained our church expenses, i.e. staff salaries, utilities, church maintenance, rectory maintenance, payment towards debts, our programs and supplies for the parish. Your total donations come to $1,079,484 (There are 1,304 donors. Donations extend from $5 to $19,000 per donor). These include the contributions to the different charity agencies and other organizations of the universal Church such as Together In Action (TIA), Development and Peace, Holy Childhood, Holy Land, Evangelization of the Nations, the Pope’s Pastoral Work, Needs of the Church in Canada, St. Vincent de Paul, Mission Mexico, CARO, and all Disaster Reliefs.
With all these donations we have been able to continue with other areas that benefit many people in the community and around the globe. The parish has continued with our always smiling children for the First Communion and Confirmation, Children Liturgy, energizing Youth Groups, Summer Bible Camp, RCIA, That Man Is You, Parish Mission, Funeral Ministry, Baptism Ministry, Grief Share, Bible Study, Worship and Praise, Seniors Tea, Parish Breakfast, Light Weigh, Rosary Guild, Catholics Coming Home, Prison Ministry, etc., all of which are for the children, young adults, adults and elderly of our parish.
The Library Ministry has organized some wonderful reading material, scriptural magazines and books, videos and research materials for all ages from 2 years to 102 years. There are many topics in the Library, which may prove to be of interest to you and your family.
The Ministry to the Aged shows our care and love for those who are on the way to eternal home with the Father. They are our spiritual tonics since they constantly pray for us. The Pastoral Care Team has done a great job in visiting the sick and the home bounds.
We have continued our spiritual support to our Catholic Schools with your priests’ masses and talks in the classrooms. We joyfully welcome our students for Masses at church. The parish has also participated and planned a spiritual retreat for grade five and six students.
With all your prayers and your wonderful donations Holy Family Parish thanks you for giving and supporting the programs which are so needed in our parish in order to grow physically and spiritually. I would like to thank all of you personally. I also thank individual volunteers in different ministries and groups such as CWL, Catholic Girl League, K of C, the choirs and Pastoral Care Team. For myself and Fr. Matthew, Deacon Bill and Deacon Robert, we want to contribute the best we can for the benefits of this parish. We may do it only with your prayers, helps and contributions. May the Lord return the goodness to you all.
Yours in Christ, Fr. Philip Le, Pastor
